Cat Tatman
I’m a Highly Specialist Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist, working with complex trauma and attachment across the lifespan. I’m warm, creative and empathic and form strong relationships with those I work with. I work playfully with primary school aged children and as a former youth worker, love building relationships with teens and young adults. There’s never any pressure on children or young people: it’s my job to get to know you and make building a relationship together feel enjoyable.
I worked in specialist services for many years before jointly founding LCAT, developing expertise in a range of areas. I’m skilled at supporting children and families who’ve experienced sexual abuse; working with teens and young adults struggling with dissociation and dissociative disorders; offering therapy to neurodiverse children and young people; and offering support to children and families who have experienced significant developmental trauma. The type of therapy will be tailored to you and is part of a unique integrative offer through LCAT.
Skills and training
My core clinical training was at the Northern Guild for Psychotherapy, completing a four-year Integrative Child Psychotherapy training in 2015. Due to my areas of specialism, I’ve also trained in a wide range of additional trauma and attachment focussed therapies which are integrated into the therapeutic approach. I’m also completing an MSc in Attachment, with a view to contributing to research in this area.
Together with Em, I help shape the service and look forward to welcoming other skilled therapists into the team in future.
