Highly Specialist Forensic Psychologist

EMDR

About Lianne

I’m a psychologist and EMDR therapist who loves working with people to make sense of the patterns in their lives, especially when things feel heavy, confusing or overwhelming. Ive spent over 10 years supporting people from all walks of life to explore whats been shaping their experience, from complex trauma and relational wounds through to anxiety, low mood, and life transitions. Along the way, Ive learned that compassion, curiosity and collaboration are at the heart of real change.

My therapeutic style draws on evidence-based methods: including EMDR, Compassion Focused Therapy, ACT, DBT and other integrative ways of working that help people not just cope, but genuinely understand themselves and find more ease with how they live and relate to others. My practice is grounded in a person-centred approach, and alongside clinical experience, I bring warmth, patience and respect into the therapeutic space.

Before moving into private practice, I have worked in senior clinical roles within the NHS and allied settings, supporting people with complex emotional needs and risk profiles. Ive always tried to hold hope alongside people, even when things feel stuck, because I believe everyone deserves a chance to build connection, resilience, and agency in their lives. I tailor therapy to you, and am particularly passionate about helping clients build self-compassion, grow insight, and make meaningful, lasting change.

My aim is to create a safe, respectful and grounded environment where you feel genuinely heard, understood and supported. I love witnessing people find clarity, strength and a sense of belonging, and Id be honoured to walk with you through that process.

Skills and Training

I hold a Doctorate in Forensic Psychology and am a Chartered and HCPC-registered Psychologist. I am also an EMDR Europe-accredited therapist and work integratively using approaches such as Compassion Focused Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and cognitive-behavioural techniques. I have many years of experience leading and delivering therapy within specialist services for people with complex emotional needs, as well as contributing to published research in the field of trauma therapy. This background allows me to offer a thoughtful, trauma-informed way of working, tailoring therapy to each person with warmth, curiosity and genuine care.
